William Bostwick

I'm the author of The Brewer's Tale: A History of the World According to Beer, published by W. W. Norton.

I cover design, technology, food, and other creative fields for magazines like Dwell, Modern Farmer, Bloomberg, GQ, Bon Appetit, Interior Design, and Garden and Gun.

I'm also the beer critic for the Wall Street Journal, where I've written about George Washington's homebrew, what Catherine the Great and Evelyn Waugh had in common, and making new (and old) drinks from trees, pumpkins, apples, and even out of thin air.

I've baked bread, butchered a pig, drank like a viking shaman, and raised bees.

I make things, I ride bikes, I like being outside.
