William Bostwick

I’m writing a book about the history of the world according to beer. It's called The Brewer’s Tale, and will be published this fall by W. W. Norton.

I'm also the beer critic for the Wall Street Journal, where I've written about George Washington's homebrew, what Catherine the Great and Evelyn Waugh had in common, and making new (and old) drinks from trees, pumpkins, apples, and even out of thin air.

I've written for GQ and Bon Appetit and Garden and Gun. I've baked bread and butchered a pig and raised bees.

I make things, I ride bikes, I like being outside.
